Mr Olumide Akpata
Olumide Akpata is a Partner at Templars and Head of the law firm’s Corporate and Commercial Practice Group. He has over two decades of experience in advising clients on various aspects of Nigerian Corporate and Commercial Law. Olumide has been recognised by the IFLR 1000 guide to the world’s leading financial and corporate law firms as a leading Mergers & Acquisition lawyer in Nigeria and by the Chambers and Partners rankings as “…having long experience in representing foreign clients” in his area of practice.
Olumide has advised on several major transactions of national and international significance. He regularly advises local and international corporations on the impact of Nigerian Law on their investments and operations in Nigeria. His practice is particularly active in the establishment of local subsidiaries, corporate governance and compliance, mergers, acquisitions and corporate restructuring, labour and immigration, regulatory issues and taxation.
Olumide is regularly called upon to speak at local and international conferences and seminars. He is a former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Business Law (NBA-SBL) and currently sits on the Council of the NBA-SBL. He is also Vice-Chairman (West-Africa) of the International Bar Association’s Africa Regional Forum. Olumide is Co-Convenor of the Medicine, Accountability and Law (MAL) Conference, 2019.
