Dr Abimbola Abolarinwa

Dr Abimbola Abolarinwa is a Lecturer in the Department of Surgery, College of Medicine of the Lagos State University and an Honourary Consultant Urologist at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital. Abimbola is a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons. She practices as a General Urologist, with broad-based clinical and surgical experience in most urological cases. Her areas of special interest are Andrology and Paediatric Urology

About Abimbola

Abimbola attended Air Force Primary School, Kaduna, and Air Force Girls Military School. She went on to study Medicine at the University of Ibadan and subsequently undertook residency training in Surgery and Urology at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital. She became the first female Urologist in Nigeria when she qualified as a Urological Surgeon in 2013.

Abimbola loves to teach, train and mentor undergraduate and postgraduate learners in medicine, including medical students and resident doctors. She has a passion for developing continuing medical education in Nigeria and recently obtained a (Distinction grade) Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the University of Lagos (in 2019).

She has won many awards in the course of her career and remains passionate about the welfare of her patients. Abimbola loves to read, bake and knit. She desires to learn French as well as a variety of handicrafts, including pottery and the making of Adire.
