WHERE DOES THIS COURSE FIT IN?

Diabetes in the adult population is essentially a cardiovascular disease. This viewpoint is especially true of the type-2 variety of this condition. The Navigating Diabetes Care conference focuses attention on evidence-based approaches relevant to the management of type-2 diabetes and related cardiovascular end-points. It explores the link between type-2 diabetes, chronic kidney disease (CKD), ischaemic heart disease and end-stage renal failure, and considers relevant risk factors common to the aetiology of these conditions. The theme of the 2016 conference is ‘Targeting Risk and Improving Outcomes in Type-2 Diabetes'. Speakers at this year’s conference will present a fresh appraisal of the subject through a variety of clinical and allied perspectives and attempt to broaden understanding of this vast and increasingly important global health challenge.
